Thursday Flipped Classroom

Year 6, every Thursday afternoon you will be working with Mr Everett and Mrs Tarrant in a ‘Flipped Classroom’.

What does this mean?

Well, a flipped classroom means that you have already been given some of the resources before the lesson even begins and the instructions. You can work on and complete some of the work before coming to class.

If I have all the work, what will I do in class?

A small number of pupils will be assigned as ‘Lead Learners’. It is this small group of pupils who will be asked to prepare for the lesson. They will complete the work and prepare to share what they have discovered with the rest of the class within the lesson on a Thursday afternoon.

If you are a Lead Learner, you must complete the tasks and prepare the work in time for the lesson and be ready to share with the rest of the class.

Who are the Lead Learners this week?

·        Brandon

·        Aneesa

·        Bethany

·        Alishah

·        Istafa

·        Leva

What do the Lead Learner have to do this week?

This week it’s all about reading, have a look at these two texts before the lesson on Thursday:

Gold Rush: http://iveson-primary.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/The-Gold-Rush.pdf

Rain and Shine: http://iveson-primary.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Rain-and-Shine-in-Britain.pdf

You do not need to complete all of the answers, just be familiar with the texts so that you can be an effective Lead Learning in class.

But what if I don’t have a printer at home?

All Lead Learners will be given the work on paper on Monday so that they can prepare for the lesson. They will be given everything that they need.

Will I be a Lead Learner every week?

No, each week a different group of 6 pupil will be selected to be Lead Learners.

GOOD LUCK!
