Y6 have learned about what compassion means and we demonstrated this with two apples - one of the apples we were really nice to and to the other apple, we were quite nasty. We realised that the apple we were nasty to had gone rather brown and bruised inside. We should think before we speak as it can hurt people on the inside, even though they look normal on the outside. Oh and let's not forget to give you the results of our science investigation.....potatoes ARE alive!
Would you know what to do if we asked you to multiply two mixed numbers? Here's easy trick! When you're multiplying two mixed numbers the easiest thing to do is to convert it to an improper (top heavy) fraction! We've been exploring all things fractions this term and this hand method has really made it easier. Take a look at the example here! Then all you have to do is convert it back to a mixed number (and maybe simplify). So for 4 1/3 x 3 2/5 our answer would be 14 and 11/15
